About the role
Our permanent relievers work within multi-disciplinary teams including physicians, surgeons, registrars, nurses, other clinical professionals and administration staff. Their primary responsibility is for the day-to-day administration and secretarial duties to enable the smooth flow of patients through a range of departments.
Duties include: office administration, organising appointments, wait-listing patients for surgery, booking surgeries, Dictaphone typing of clinical correspondence, and liaising with patients, GPs other hospitals and funding providers.
You will be guaranteed a minimum of 56 hours a fortnight, and will generally work 4 x 5.5 hours days and 1 x 6 hour day a week, between the hours of 7.30AM and 6.00PM. It will, however, be important that you have the flexibility to work up to full-time on occasions.
About you
As our ideal candidate you will be team-focussed and thrive in a busy environment delivery quality customer service. It is also important that you enjoy the challenge of managing last minute changes, whilst maintaining high levels of accuracy.
Previous administration and secretarial experience, a high degree of computer literacy and the ability to work autonomously are essential. Experience with hospital management systems and knowledge of medical terminology is advantageous.
