About the Role:We are seeking a highly motivated and innovative Scientist to join our team working on the development of cryogenic integrated circuits (ICs) for quantum computing and other low-temperature applications.
This role presents an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research and development in the field of cryogenics, focusing on designing and optimizing ICs that operate at cryogenic temperatures.
You will be part of a dynamic team collaborating with academic institutions, industry leaders, and cross-functional teams to push the boundaries of technology in the rapidly evolving quantum computing ecosystem.Key Responsibilities:Design and develop cryogenic-compatible ICs for quantum computing and quantum sensing applications.Characterise and optimize IC performance at ultra-low temperatures, focusing on noise reduction, power efficiency, and signal integrity.Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to integrate ICs into quantum hardware platforms, ensuring seamless operation in cryogenic environments.Conduct experimental tests and simulations to validate the performance of cryogenic IC designs.Contribute to research publications and patent filings to protect innovations and showcase technical advancements.Collaborate with industry stakeholders, academic institutions, and consortia to advance the state-of-the-art in cryogenic IC technologies.Requirements:· PhD in Electrical Engineering, or a related field with a focus on cryogenic systems, semiconductor materials, or integrated circuits.· 2-5 years of experience in designing, testing and characterising analog/mixed-signal ICs (ADC, DAC, AFE etc).
Familiar with chip-level modelling, integration and verification.· Hands-on experience with PCB design, operating high performance test equipment, especially for high frequency and low-noise circuit design.· Familiarity with system-level modeling and simulation, using tools like MATLAB and Python, to model and optimize cryogenic IC performance.· Understanding of the challenges of operating electronic systems at cryogenic temperatures is a plus.· Proven ability to design, develop, and optimize analog/mixed-signal ICs for low-temperature applications.· Experience with system-level modeling and simulation using MATLAB/Python.· Strong publication track record in relevant technical fields, demonstrating a history of research contributions and innovation.· Experience working in cross-functional teams and collaborating with external partners.
Strong communication skills for presenting research findings to academic, industrial, and governmental stakeholders.
