Job description:School Projects Coordinator Position Purpose To develop and maintain internal and external projects and partnerships,coordinate marketing, recruitment and events for the School of Music andCreative Media Production within the College of Creative Arts. Accountabilities
Accountability 1 Outreach1. Assist with securing and coordination of industry related activity for
student-led teaching and learning in the School programmes.2. Facilitate new connections with commercial companies and relevant
public sector organisations.3. Assist in developing and strengthening relationships with professional
and stakeholder communities as appropriate.4. Establish and maintain a network of School tutors, lecturers and
visiting professionals.5. Support the school with staff recruitment.Accountability 2 School Student Recruitment1. Clearly and confidently communicate knowledge of
undergraduate and graduate academic offerings andadmissions criteria.
2. Plan, develop, implement and evaluate projects, workshops,events, and other initiatives geared to recruiting students
3. Contribute to the School recruitment strategy and processes.4. Act as School representative for College and University student
recruitment.5. Work closely with College Marketing to recommend recruitment
strategies and implement targeted outreach to prospectivestudents, applicants and admitted students.
6. Work with the University’s Marketing, Comms and StudentRecruitment offices on behalf of the School.
7. Work with College and University international units on behalf of theSchool.
8. Creatively engage with prospective students and their whanauas well as developing positive educational partnerships andworking relationships with external stakeholders such assecondary schools, iwi, community groups, and the professionalcommunities relevant to the subject areas of the school.
9. Mentor and coordinate student recruitment ambassadorsthroughout the enrolment lifecycle.
10. Create reports to monitor metrics to gauge the effectivenessand success of recruiting efforts.3
Accountability 3 School Marketing and Events1. Coordinate School marketing and promotional campaigns.2. Coordinate internal and external comms for the School including
University and College websites and published collateral.3. Coordinate School-related events as required by Head of School.4. Coordinate School social media.5. Act as School representative for College and University marketing,
events and comms.6. Work with College Marketing on campaign strategies and creation of
content.7. Respond to queries coming through social media.
Accountability 4 Other Duties1. Develop and maintain positive relationships with the School
Management Team, and all School and College staff.2. Contribute to School meetings and committees as required by Head
of School.3. Qualifications and Experience
Qualifications: Relevant tertiary qualification and/or significant industry experience.
Experience: • Evidence of building and maintaining strategic partnerships acrossgovernment, cultural and/or commercial sectors.
Practical and professional experience of using social media and
developing campaigns.
Experience in preparing and writing official documentationEvidence of managing market data, and organising data to assist
strategy.
Experience with organisation and promotion of events.Experience in student recruitment in the tertiary sector would be an
advantage.Capabilities:
Demonstrate the ability to develop and maintain internal/external stakeholders and networks.Demonstrated ability to initiate new projects, new partnerships and relationships (both
nationally and internationally).Demonstrate a broad knowledge and understanding of the creative industries.Knowledge and understanding of the media, music and creative industry sectors.Demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of cultural policy and funding opportunities.Evidence of strong communication skills including spoken and written English is essential.Clear, confident and skilled presenter.Ability to work independently, professionally and meet deadlines.Strong networking, coordination, time and self-management skills.
Ability to work as a highly effective member of a team.Proven ability to manage multiple tasks will be critical and include the tracking of financial viability
and the identification and management of any resulting or associated risks.Strong interpersonal skills and experience with culturally diverse communities are required.5
