We are seeking to hire reliable and motivated team members for permanent positions at our log marshalling Checkpoint at the port in Nelson.

Checkpoint Processors accurately measure and ticket logs using electronic scanning equipment. Experience in log measuring would be an advantage however full training will be provided for the right applicant.

The checkpoint is an outdoor work environment that can be a physically demanding place to work. It is a busy customer service facility that receives and processes many log trucks each day.

Applicants need to have an eye for detail, enjoy responsibility and working as part of a team. Flexibility regarding working hours is required as the checkpoint normally operates between the hours of 0500 and midnight Monday to Friday with a morning and evening shift to cover these hours. Depending on demand some Saturday work may be required.

Essential requirements for the position are:

Accuracy with excellent attention to detail

Proven customer service skills to liaise with truck drivers

Good communication skills

Ability to work to strict deadlines

Commitment to a strong Health and Safety culture

Motivated team player

Full driver licence
