Operating 24/7 and based out of their modern warehousing facilities in Dunedin, they buy daily from local markets and from all over NZ to ensure their customers get the freshest possible ingredients. They have specialist in-house vegetable processing and butchery facilities helping customers become more efficient, reduce food wastage, and achieve better cost management. They source and import items from all over the world supplying over 3000 products which are distributed from Christchurch to Bluff and everywhere in between. They employ over 200 employees and operate over 80 delivery vehicles with depots and branches in Invercargill, Central Otago, Timaru, Christchurch, and Dunedin. Kaan's value cultural diversity, and pride themselves on offering services in Cantonese, Mandarin, Thai and Indian. This ensures they are responsive and efficient in meeting their customer's needs.About the role:Reporting to the GM, the Sales and Marketing Manager will be responsible for formulating and implementing innovative sales and marketing strategies aimed at boosting revenue growth and establishing market prominence within the region. This role is instrumental in ensuring that Kaan's not only receives effective market share but is competitive, aligning seamlessly with market trends and meeting the evolving needs of customers. This newly created role will grow market penetration, revenue expansion, and customer satisfaction, requiring a unique blend of strategic foresight, leadership acumen, technical proficiency, and a can-do attitude.Key responsibilities include:Lead and champion a high performing sales team of 12+ reps situated both locally and remotely.Develop sales targets and KPI's that are challenging but rewarding for the sales team and work with them to achieve successProvide regular coaching and mentoring to lift performance and achieve resultsAnalyse market and competitor trends, and design effective sales strategiesDevelop a marketing strategy fit for purpose and deliver on agreed objectives, and within budgetPrepare and present monthly reporting on sales and marketing performance and trendsImplement and use digital technologies to enhance and lift performance.About you:You will have proven leadership capability backed up with excellent technical sales expertise and a strong desire to see results. To be successful in this position you will be focused, innovative, pragmatic, but able to see the big picture. You will be positive, self-driven and agile, able to work through complex situations calmly and successfully. You will mentor growth within the sales team and support them to produce the results. Not only will you be able to think strategically, but you will have a practical hands-on approach, able to consider the facts then successfully follow through and execute.Key requirements include:Demonstrated experience leading a high performing sales teamAble to develop a marketing strategy that positions the company and drives the direction of the sales teamKnowledge and experience in the food industry is preferable.Demonstrated ability to set and meet sales KPI's and objectivesAble to foster strong professional working relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders.Strong technical knowledge, with experience in CRMExceptional people skills and ability to grow a teamProficiency in interpreting data to inform decision making and evaluate performanceTechnologically savvy, and able to use digital expertise to lift performanceIf you are a hands-on leader with a passion for sales, experience in marketing, and ready for a new challenge, we want to hear from you!
