A fabulous opportunity for a nature orientated person to come and work in a small, customer focussed team in beautiful Stewart Island, away from the busy tourist centres.We are a local, independent, professional, tourist business, operating since 2000. Could you be the right person to join a small team as our Assistant: Sales / Marketing / Admin person, interacting with interesting people from around the world? You will need to be a hard working, a quick learner, with attention to detail, energetic, enthusiastic, friendly and outgoing. You will need to be able to handle responsibility. A commitment for the full season is essential due to the training time involved to understand tours and the local environment. Work is based in our centrally located booking office / outdoor shop.Our ideal candidate is / has:Previous sales / customer service and / or tourism backgroundMature, responsibleHonest and trustworthyA positive can-do attitude and is flexibleCustomer orientatedGood organisational skills, ability to multi-task, accurate with attention to detailExcellent written and spoken English is essentialGood personal presentationDuties include:Selling tours, services, retailing goodsGreeting visitors and providing clients with tour informationLiaising with our skipper / guides / other staff membersMaintaining accurate and timely paperworkAssisting with marketing and administration tasksHelping to maintain a clean and tidy work environmentAny other reasonable tasks.Employment Period and Hours of WorkFor October to April 2020. For one staff: Full time from 40 hours a week over 5 days or 5.5 days or For two staff: Part time: 4 days and 3 days to cover the week.Apply if you are genuinely interested and able to commit:Meet our criteriaAre in New Zealand or due to arrive soonEligible to work in NZAble to have a skype interview and preferably planning to travel to Stewart Island and willing to attend a face to face interview at a mutally convenient location.Hold a clean driver's licence (if possible an NZ driver's licence).Have a current first aid certificate or willing to obtain (all the major towns in New Zealand have St John's and Red Cross First Aid courses).Have no commitments that require extended leave during our key tourist season (October to April).Due to limited resources we can only respond to suitable, genuine candidates.
