We are looking for enthusiastic Rural Hospital Medical Specialists/Medical Officers to join our vibrant and friendly team at the Bay of Islands Hospital. It is a perfect time to join our team with a newly developed Accident & Medical Department, Medical ward, Radiology and After-Hours GP with further redevelopment currently underway that will incorporate a primary care clinic and outpatient facilities.
Bay of Islands Hospital is a busy 20 bed rural hospital caring for medical, post-surgical and paediatric patients along with an Accident & Medical Department. The SMO is responsible for providing medical care to acutely ill patients in the Accident & Medical department as well as managing the inpatients in the General Ward. The cases managed at Bay of Islands Hospital are complex and interesting, with specialist support provided from Whangarei Hospital. This position would suit a Specialist / Medical Officer with Rural Health experience or GP All-Rounder with some Emergency Medicine experience.
