The Maruia River Retreat is a private and intimate retreat centre by the Maruia River. There are 7 Villas, a Main Lodge and 500-acres of beech forest where guests can explore, rest deeply and connect with themselves, nature and others.
About the role
Responsibilities include:
Communicates effectively with the guest prior to the visit - pre-arrangements, special needs, questions and concerns;
Prepares the lodge and the villas according to the MRR standards of service prior to the guest's arrival;
Provides superior service, hosts and handles the guests needs during their stay - includes coordination of activities, meals, housekeeping, up to departure;
Maintains the property and manages third party providers in accordance to agreed service level standards and contractual agreements;
Maintains a disciplined and efficient administration and management of front end and back end processes, including email, software programs like Staah, Preno, Kounta and Xero;
Continually improves and refines the level of service and quality offerings for MRR.

The host will have his/her own comfortable accommodations at the Main Lodge and will have access to the kitchen garden for his/her own meals.
Murchison is 20 minutes away and Nelson 2-hours away and there is so much to explore around the area so this provides a unique setting for work and everyday living.

Skills and experience
Required qualifications:
At least 2 years in the hospitality business with strong customer and operational experience;
Preferably has a responsible service of alcohol certificate;
Preferably has cooking or basic kitchen skills for simple meal preparations;
Preferably has a valid drivers license to drive guests with the company shuttle service;
Has a valid working visa in NZ
