East Tamaki 2016Full-time, PermanentJob briefWe are looking for a Restaurant Manager to lead the day to day restaurant, café as well as the reservations, booking aspect of our catering business, with a focus on promoting Filipino cuisines. You will deliver the business needs in ensuring customers are serviced properly and motivate our staff to provide excellent customer service.The responsibilities include maintaining the business’s revenue, profitability and quality goals. You will ensure efficient restaurant operation and our catering events as well as maintain high production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards.To be successful in this role, you’ll need proven management skills and experience in both front and back of the house. We want you to know how to oversee the dining room, check-in with customers and balance seating capacity. Back of the house management experience is also essential, as you’ll work with qualified cooks and wait staff, assist in setting work schedules and make sure we comply with health and safety restaurant regulations. On top of this, the candidate must be well versed in managing our catering events, including the design, scheduling and planning of each unique event.We’ll expect you to lead by example and uplift our staff during busy moments in our fast-paced environment. Ultimately, you will ensure our restaurant runs smoothly and customers have pleasant dining experiences.ResponsibilitiesPublicizes the restaurant by designing and placing advertisements; which may also include inviting food editors to review the restaurant; contacting local, regional, and national magazines with feature ideas; and encouraging local businesses to hold social events at the restaurant.Booking and planning of restaurant reservations and catering event. Assist in creating, arranging and implementing various catering events suited to each client’s needs.Coordinate daily Front of the House and Back of the House operationsDeliver superior service and maximize customer satisfactionResponding efficiently and accurately to customer complaints and assist in taking customer’s ordersRegularly review product quality and research new vendorsAssist in organising and supervising shifts or rostersAssist in appraising staff performance and provide feedback to improve productivityEnsure compliance with sanitation and safety regulationsAssist in tidying up the kitchen before shift ends.Manage restaurant’s good image and suggest ways to improve itAssist in creating detailed reports on weekly, monthly and annual revenues and expenses when needed.Promote the Natalia’s brand in the local community through word-of-mouth and restaurant eventsRecommend ways to reach a broader audience (e.g. discounts and social media ads)Train new and current employees on proper customer service practicesQualifications and EducationA relevant tertiary qualification in hospitality, business or management, which will enable you to undertake the high-level managerial tasks associated with this role (minimum 3 years of relevant experience can substitute the requirement for a qualification)At least 3 years of managerial experience in the hospitality industry with qualification would be an advantage – practical experience in addition to a qualification is key in demonstrating you have the hands-on skills for the roleExperience in event planning, organize facilities and management of Natalia’s catering events such as decor, entertainment, transportation, location, invitee list, special guests, equipment, promotional material etcStrong leadership, motivational and people skillsKnowledge on general restaurant operations, including personnel management, food planning and preparation, purchasing and booking of eventsExtremely organized and detail-orientedPeople management, fostering teamwork, and giving feedbackComfortable setting priorities and delegating tasks as neededBe flexible and willing to work shifts including days, nights, weekends and public holidaysApplicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.Job Types: Full-time, PermanentExperience:supervisory: 3 years (Preferred)hospitaly or business management: 3 years (Preferred)Education:Bachelor Degree (Required)Location:East Tamaki 2016 (Preferred)Language:English, Tagalog (Preferred)Work Eligibility:The candidate can work permanently with no restriction on hours (Preferred)
