Details of the offer

Respiratory SMO Closes 11 Sep 2019 Posted 15 Aug 2019
Our Purpose
The Canterbury District Health Board systematically plan, fund and deliver care to almost 600,000 people that live in the Canterbury region. The Canterbury Health System is a world leader in the delivery of integrated health care. Our main focus is placing people (staff and patients alike) at the centre of everything we do.
The Team
Christchurch Hospital also acts as a tertiary referral centre for the northern half of the South Island. We have developed a world-class integrated respiratory and sleep service across community, primary and secondary services, with strong links with undergraduate and postgraduate education and research.
The Role
The Canterbury District Health Board provides secondary level care for patients with respiratory and sleep disorders on an inpatient, outpatient and domiciliary basis throughout the Canterbury Region. Working 24 hours per week initially, you would be one of 12 Respiratory Physicians on the team. There may be the possibility of increasing the number of hours in the role in the future.
We are seeking a permanent, part-time Respiratory Physician with an interest in Sleep Medicine to join our team.
To be considered for this position your qualifications will be eligible for specialist physician registration with the New Zealand Medical Council. Appropriate qualifications/experience in Respiratory Medicine is a must, and a similar level of training in Sleep Medicine is highly desirable. You will also be a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians or equivalent.
Our Culture: What matters to us
Ko nga tangata, te matua mahiPutting people at the heart of all we do
Health is ultimately all about people. What's important around here is the way we care for and respect others, the responsibility taken for delivering outcomes, and going about our work with integrity.
Belonging Here
Being part of the Canterbury District Health Board, our people enjoy access to flexible working arrangements and a genuine and ongoing focus on career development.
We hope you'll seriously consider joining us, but if this role isn't a good fit for you, please share this opportunity with people in your personal networks.
