The service and the role:
In this 24/7 residential service you will walk alongside tangata whaiora on their mental health journey and make them feel at home. You will provide them with support in many areas, including with their recovery, to live as independently as possible, to connect them with their community and whanau, and to set and achieve their goals.
We are looking for individuals who cope well in challenging environments and bring a positive attitude. You will be excellent with relationship building (both with tangata whaiora and their whanau) and focus on the strengths and interests of the client. You will be confident working autonomously and will be resilient as this work can be challenging.
In this role you will work closely with colleagues, community providers, clinical teams and other external stakeholders to help achieve the best outcomes for tangata whaiora. Duties in this role can also include updating records, medication support, maintaining hygiene standards in the service and administration duties
This is a permanent full-time rostered position for 40 hours per week.
You will need:
Experience working as a Support Worker is essential, preferably in a residential mental health respite setting
Ideally have aLevel 4 Health and Wellbeing Qualification(or equivalent/above). However if you're willing to commit to working towards a qualification then we can offer some support around this
It's essential that you have aFull New Zealand Driver Licence
Strong computer skills

To be resilient, you will face challenges in this role, however you will be trained and supported to deal with any challenges you may face
Flexible, you will be required to work on a roster as the service provide support to our clients 24 hours 7 days a week
