About the role
Mater Research is a world class facility that is committed to academic medicine and aims to discover, develop, translate, and commercialise medical research that integrates with relevant areas of excellence within clinical practice. Proud of its strong history and relationship with Mater, Mater Research is continuing to drive medical innovation which can be translated into clinical care for the benefit of all. To facilitate this vision, we require a talentedResearch Nursein a full-time capacity to assist in the development and undertaking of studies relating to projects in of Neurosciences and Cognitive Health. The Research Nurse will ensure clinical studies are conducted adhering to the applicable local, national and international regulations.The successful candidate will be required to work Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm. No weekend or shift work is required.
What youll be doing
The Research Nurses role encompasses the following duties:
Implementation and day to day management of research projects in close collaboration with clinical staff and study investigators, ensuring efficient processes are instigated and followed.
Development of mechanisms which support adequate recruitment rates for these clinical studies.
Identify barriers to adequate study recruitment in close collaboration with study investigator and develop improved strategies.
Organise and manage data collection in accordance with regulatory standards and project timelines.
Develop a strong working relationship with Principal Investigators and Co-Investigators to ensure effective and timely implementation of clinical research.
Establish and maintain effective communication networks to facilitate efficient conduct of clinical research with relevant collaborators and/or industry sponsors within the relevant program.

About you
The qualifications and attributes that will facilitate your success in this role are:
Current AHPRA nursing registration.
Relevant qualification or equivalent experience in the field of neuroscience or cognitive health research highly desirable.
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of neurological disorders.
Demonstrated high level interpersonal skills necessary for negotiating and liaising effectively with a diverse range of staff, patients and other stakeholders.
Knowledge of data management systems and advance computer skills.
Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication skills.
