About the team
Ward 9C is a busy open 16 bed inpatient facility comprising of two acute youth beds and 14 acute adult beds with dedicated staff providing 24 hour care. The service caters to clients who have been assessed as requiring a period of increased assessment, investigations and/or interventions that cannot be safely provided for in the community. Admissions come via Community Mental Health Teams or the Emergency Psychiatric Service, and cover of all the major psychiatric diagnoses.
About you / about the role
Are you a Registered Nurse with recent Mental Health nursing experience looking for a new opportunity? We have two roles; a permanent part-time and a fixed-term, part-time, these two roles could however be combined to make a 1.0 FTE until 3 May 2020 if this was desirable? As a Registered Nurse in Ward 9c you will provide care for patients with the full range of general adult mental health disorders, including youth, mothers and babies, and eating disorders. We seek an enthusiastic experienced Registered Nurse to join our team on a permanent, part time basis working rostered shifts.
We are particularly interested in hearing from applicants who are dynamic, innovative and wish to join a service that is committed to high standards of practice and supports ongoing professional development.
We are keen to place a motivated nurse who wants to make a difference and will join us in facilitating our group programme as well as working in partnership with individuals. The role is busy and diverse and will require someone who has a good general mental health background with experience in the acute mental health sector.
Candidates must be New Zealand Registered Nurses, and hold a current APC as well as a scope of practice that enables you to work in Mental Health.
