Ward 8c Oncology and Haematology is looking for two experienced Registered Nurses to join their team on a fixed-term, part-time basis.
The Oncology and Haematology Service is a busy, challenging but rewarding place to work and comprises of the acute Oncology and Haematology in-patient ward, Oncology Day Unit, Outpatient Clinics and Radiation Therapy treatment areas.
This ward-based position involves the care of medical oncology, radiation oncology and haematology patients receiving chemotherapy, supportive or radiation therapy. Some of the key nursing tasks are: comprehensive patient assessment; administration of chemotherapy and associated supportive therapies or procedures; symptom control and management; patient education; and psychosocial assessment and support.
The applicants must have:
excellent communication skills
a current Annual Practicing Certificate
recent New Zealand based acute medical nursing or oncology/haematology experience.

A full orientation and development plan will be provided for the successful candidates.
