Registered Nurse – Resource And Patient Transportation

Location: Nelson Hospital
Permanent part-time position working 56 hours a fortnight (0.7FTE)
Minimum of 5 years recent acute experience is required

About the role
As a Resource and Transport Nurse you will work closely with the Duty Nurse Manger at Nelson Hospital to provide care to our patients both as a resource nurse, within wards and units, as well as assisting with inter-hospital transfers via flight and inter-district transfers via road ambulance between Nelson and Wairau, in conjunction with St John.
About you
You will be a proactive and supportive team member with a minimum of 5 years recent acute nursing experience and will be willing to share your professional knowledge and skills. The role will involve full internal shift rotation. Flight nurse course or transportation experience would be an advantage.
In addition you will:
preferably have an Expert level PDRP, or a commitment to work towards within 6 months
have an ongoing commitment to professional development
have well-developed clinical skills in an acute care setting
ideally have cardiology experience (advantageous)
have the skills to adapt in a dynamic rapidly changing work environment.
