Full time, permanent positions available to establish your career as an acute Oncology Nurse
As an acute Oncology nurse, you will be part of a high energy, supportive team with a good sense of humor. Your commitment to provide the best standards of personalised care possible to our patients and their families/whanau is the key to success in this role. Your high clinical standards with an emphasis on the delivery of evidence-based care while striving to continuously improve quality are valued. You will be using your skills and knowledge in good clinical assessment and critical thinking to communicate clearly with members of your multidisciplinary team.
The areas you will gain experience from a wide range of cancers and treatment-related issues including:
Management of oncological emergencies such as febrile neutropenia and spinal cord compression
Administer inpatient chemotherapy
Management of chemo- and immunotherapy related side effects
Intraspinal analgesia
Inpatient radiotherapy
Palliative care

Ideally, you will come from an oncology, haematology or medical nursing background and must have a minimum of 2 years post-graduate nursing experience in an acute care hospital.
You will be offered a personalised orientation programme, excellent professional development opportunities including eviQs Antineoplastic Drug Administration Course, and facilitate access to on-going education and the opportunity to apply for subsidised relevant postgraduate education.
