Job Description

0.6 FTE permanent, part-time (24 hours) position available with the Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) team
Registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand with a current APC
Should have the ability to work Monday to Friday between 08:00 - 16:30 (exact 0.6 FTE roster to be based on IPC Service needs in negotiation with successful applicant)

The Team:What we do
The CDHB Infection Prevention and Control Service is currently recruiting for a Registered Nurse to join our team. We are in a period of exciting new developments within our new nurse-led structure and this is creating a lot of interesting opportunities for the right candidate.
In this role, you would provide day-to-day advice on infection prevention and control measures to ensure the safety of patients, staff and visitors to CDHB facilities. You will guide and support CDHB staff to implement appropriate IPC practices in their work area to minimise risk of infection transmission.
The Role:Where you fit in
In this role you will provide support across the service, your nursing knowledge and excellent interpersonal skills will ensure you build successful relationships with a diverse range of health professionals as you offer and coordinate sound IP&C expertise, advice and care to our teams.
This is a great opportunity for a senior RN to diversify their nursing career.
You will be responsible for assisting the IP&C CNS in providing specialist IP&C advice and/or coordination of care to patients, staff, contractors and other stakeholders across the healthcare setting
Your ability to work effectively both autonomously and within a multidisciplinary team in a variety of situations with both individuals and groups is imperative in this service as you are responsible for providing support, education and recommendations to clinical staff across a wide variety of disciplines
Your clinical knowledge, expertise in addition to diplomacy, respect and professionalism, will be key to engaging with staff and patients to ensure your success in this role
Previous experience working in infection prevention and control would be an advantage although is not essential
