We currently have a vacancy for Registered Nurse within our MHSOP Inpatient Unit.
Ward 35E is an acute inpatient mental health assessment ward for people aged 65 years and over and is located on the 5th Floor of the Edmund Hillary Building within Middlemore Hospital. People present with a range of functional and / or organic problems and often have co-existing medical conditions. We work closely with the MHSOP community team aiming to deliver comprehensive and integrated care.
As a registered nurse on Ward 35E you will be contributing to the development of Mental Health Services for Older People. The successful candidate will be an integral part of the multidisciplinary team assisting to deliver high quality care to our patients.
Ward 35E is a dedicated education unit (DEU). Within this all staff work with student nurses, additionally within the area there are at times allied health and medical students. The ward also supports new graduate staff.
We are looking for NZ registered mental health nurses with an interest in mental health, depth of experience and strong nursing skills to provide effective acute inpatient treatment. If you have good communication skills, can work rostered duties and have the ability to work under pressure within a team environment we would love to hear from you.
Experience in the area of acute mental health care or older adults with mental illness will be an advantage.
