Don't let the opportunity for career progression pass you by!
Use your experience and expertise to make a real different to our patient's health outcomes
Here at the Southern DHB, we are firmly committed to providing our patients with the highest level of care. We believe that our dedicated and passionate staff are a significant driving force behind the achievement of these standards, and we need more like-minded people to help us continue providing for our community.
About the role
We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated Registered Nurse for our busy Radiology Service for a permanent, part time position with negotiable FTE on offer. A full range of diagnostic and some interventional procedures are performed within our CT, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound and Fluoroscopy.
Training will be given for the specific skills required in the Radiology Service, which include cannulation, insertion of PICCS and interventional procedures. Good communication and interpersonal skills are essential and you will be expected to deliver high quality, patient focused care. As part of our team, you will be required to work predominantly Monday through Friday, 0830 to 1700 hours, and to also be available for our on-call roster which includes covering evenings and weekends.
What's on offer?
The work in Radiology is varied and interesting and you will have many opportunities to develop professionally. Capability development is a high priority for us - there is ample opportunity for professional development, and we offer a supportive orientation programme. Further, learning opportunities present themselves every day, proactive and engaged learners wanting to take full advantage of the opportunities in the environment will have plenty of opportunities to enhance their repertoire of skills. Our team are dedicated, professional and on hand to provide you with mentorship and support.
About you
We're looking for someone who's experienced and organised, friendly and calm, able to work independently and at the same time genuinely interested in the best outcome for both patient and team. It is imperative that you are able to hit the ground running to provide much needed support to the team and our community.
Additionally you will need the following:
Current registration with the New Zealand Nursing Council and a current APC, with the right to work in New Zealand
Demonstrated ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively with other professionals
Excellent time management, interpersonal and organisational skills
The ability to be adaptable, flexible and solution focused
Please let us know in your covering letter what FTE you are interested in.
Location, location, location!
Southland gives you everything you'd want from a city hospital, like interesting work and a range of specialities, but there's a small hospital feel. You'll be on first-name terms with all the staff, including the doctors. It's a really friendly, supportive workplace - and you'll find that in the wider community, too. Check out *****
