Are you a Midwife in search of a dynamic opportunity within a rewarding healthcare organisation?
Hawke's Bay District Health Board (HBDHB) is seeking an experienced Registered Midwife to join our team of professionals in providing excellent care to approximately 2200 women and their whanau/families annually.
HBDHB's maternity facilities are unique in that, in addition to our main secondary care birthing facility we are the only DHB in New Zealand with a co-located Primary Birthing Unit. Last year 700 women benefited from our purpose built contemporary home from home facilities, where women are actively supported and encouraged to birth naturally.
Are you a midwife who can bring skills to our existing DHB team to support more women to achieve optimal birth outcomes and help drive up these numbers?
At the Hawkes Bay District Health Board we pride ourselves with clinical excellence and will support you to achieve the same. Our service also offers midwives opportunities to work closely with our more vulnerable whanau supporting them to achieve optimal birth outcomes. We know our Maori and Pasifika women are less likely to book with a midwife during the first trimester, are at higher risk of having or developing other co-morbidities, often live with many social complexities, and give birth prematurely.
Do you have or want to develop skills to make a difference to these vulnerable families, address the inequity and promote a culture of inclusiveness across our community?
We are seeking a diverse and energetic midwife who embraces the opportunity to:
Provide a high standard of evidence-based midwifery care to women of varying ages and cultural groups
Plan, assess, implement and evaluate midwifery care in collaboration with women, their families and the multidisciplinary team
Work in partnership to achieve identified goals and health outcomes

Selection Criteria:
Registered Midwife
A current practising certificate with the Midwifery Council of New Zealand
Highly developed clinical skills in maternity services
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
Evidence of recent effective, competent midwifery practice or, for recent midwifery graduates, evidence of enrolment on the Midwifery First Year of Practice Programme
Ability to work effectively within a busy environment with competing demands

For those who aren't already living in the beautiful Hawke's Bay and making the most of what's on offer, know that it boasts an enviable lifestyle with great real estate, superb schools, stunning beaches, a burgeoning economy, no traffic headaches, and of course an abundance of sunshine.
You won't find this opportunity just anywhere, and when you combine this with the chance to live in New Zealand's own piece of paradise, you have to ask yourself "why work anywhere else"? Take a stroll through the Hawke's Bay Tourism website and get yourself to Hawke's Bay!
