Are you an experienced registered mental health clinician committed to providing high quality patient focussed care and looking for a new challenge?
We have an opportunity for a Registered Health Practitioner to join our Emergency Mental Health (EMHS) team. EMHS is a multi-disciplinary team who work collaboratively with the Emergency Department, Community Mental Health, Home Based Treatment, Mental Health Inpatient Service, GPs, Psychiatrists and the Police in order to achieve best outcomes for the community of Hawkes Bay.
You can join a supportive and experienced team who provide acute mental health assessment crisis intervention over a 24/7 roster. The primary function of the EMHS team is to provide comprehensive psychiatric assessment and treatment to people presenting in mental health crisis. Be assured that you are joining a department that is committed to continuous improvement in service delivery for our community as well as providing a supportive and rewarding and always challenging work environment.
Key attributes are a passion for assessing people experiencing a mental health crisis, a resilience and positivity to the daily challenges of the service. Being innovative with an enthusiastic and positive attitude alongside excellent clinical skills and a willingness to contribute to the on-going development of the service.
Some of the responsibilities you would be doing are evaluating and assessing patients with mental health crisis, serve as a liaison with other service providers or community supports for the continuous improvements of services to patients. Maintain patient charts appropriately, including accurate documental of evaluation, interventions and treatment recommendations. You will need to have good communication skills and the ability to maintain positive relationships with physicians, patients, families and all other hospital personnel.
