We are seeking applications for the Regional Manager – Southern with oversight of chaplaincy across all prison sites in the South Island. This Regional Manager – Southern is a full-time position reporting to the Chief Executive. This role is both a regional manager and a chaplain, so while there will be a 70% focus on management, approximately 30% of the focus will be on chaplain responsibilities. From a management perspective, the successful applicant will be responsible for the oversight and management of chaplains and chaplaincy within the Southern Region. This will include, for example, recruitment of chaplains, developing chaplains through coaching and guidance, managing staff and site issues, planning and delivering regional training, and conducting annual staff reviews for chaplains. The successful applicant will also be a key member of the TTPCA management team and contribute both strategically and operationally to the organisation. Some national travel will be required to visit sites as well as attend bi-monthly management meetings at national office in Wellington. Person Specification To be successful in this role, you will: have a NZQF recognised tertiary qualification in theology have significant and relevant pastoral experience in prison chaplaincy or equivalent have ministry experience with a sound understanding of pastoral care practice, liturgical theory and application, and faith development models being highly advantageous be able to lead and manage a team and motivate staff champion tikanga and the use of te reo Maori have excellent relationship management skills demonstrate professionalism with strong IT, verbal and written communication skills be adaptable and flexible in thinking and actions role model best practice across all areas of operational practice and service delivery.
