JP Refrigeration is a family owned and operated company bringing a reliable refrigeration and cooling service at an affordable price to Taranaki. They are currently seeking a NZ experienced Refrigeration/Air Conditioning Technician to join their small team and be part of their next stage of growth in taking on larger contracts.
What does a typical day /week look like in the job?
In this industry it is vitally important for a technician to be highly technically minded because there are so many complicated systems to work on. In any one week you will be working across many sectors of industries including commercial, industrial and domestic so your diversity in skills will be a huge asset. You will be required to install, diagnose, repair, service and maintain a wide range of refrigeration and air conditioning systems. Your territory will be across the whole Taranaki Region. Some travel will be involved along with being part of an on-call roster for emergency servicing.
What skills and expertise are they looking for?
A trades person who isn?t satisfied with just any solution but the best. Your technical skills in knowing how to operate and test relevant instruments and confidently use the tools of the trade are key to the success of this role. Your ability to use both your practical and technical abilities will come to the play in ensuring the job is completed to the highest standard.
Aside from technical expertise, communication skills are a key part of this role, you must be able to connect with customers, easily build rapport and provide advice on the best equipment for the business where appropriate.
The prerequisites for this role are:
A NZ Trade Certificate in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (HVAC experience)
A clean full drivers? license
A current working knowledge of health and safety systems and procedures
No less than 3 years full time experience or in the last year of an apprenticeship
Be physically fit and able to lift heavy equipment
Be able to work alongside others as well as autonomously
