Receptionist/Optometrist Assistant PositionHorowhenua Vision Centre has a full-time Receptionist/Optometrist Assistant position available due to the well-deserved retirement of our two part-time employees (with 65 years of experience combined!
).We are an independently owned Optometrist business with branches in Levin and Waikanae.
This is a permanent full-time position for Monday to Friday.
Occasional Saturday morning work may be required, and work in Waikanae may be needed when short-staffed.
We are closed on public holidays and have no late nights.Tasks:You will be working as a receptionist and assistant to the Optometrist.
The role involves:Reception/front-of-house work (such as meeting and greeting customers, making appointments, answering the telephone, selling over-the-counter products)Assistant work - performing pre-testing procedures on automated equipment (photography, autorefraction), managing the flow of customers to and from the Optometrist's room, performing additional tests at the request of the Optometrist, assisting with the selection of frames, and helping with dispensing spectacles as required.Training/Experience:We will provide onsite training, including learning about optical terminology and optical products.
Experience in an Optometrist or medical-based setting is not required but is an advantage.
