This is advert is for 6 fixed term positions for approx 8 months - employment is from 7 October 2019 to 1 May 2020.

Do you have a desire to work outdoors in one of the most beautiful environments in the world? We are looking for six enthusiastic Rangers to join our Recreation/Historic Team in and around the Fiordland National Park over the 2019/2020 summer season.

These roles will operate on a rostered pattern of 8 days on and 6 days off (Tues-Tues) assisting with the day to day running of self-registration campsites, day sites, short walks and amenity areas to ensure that these facilities are maintained to a high standard.

A typical day will involve driving between various DOC sites, campground compliance (ensuring all visitors have successfully registered at the kiosks and providing mobile EFTPOS or cash change as required), road compliance (ensuring that freedom campers are not where they shouldn't be), cleaning of facilities and routine maintenance tasks such as; grass cutting, vegetation clearing (weed whacking) and minor repairs to structures. Training for all of the above will be provided.

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

An outgoing personality with excellent people skills
The ability to get necessary jobs done with a minimum of fuss
A team player attitude
The ability to work to a plan
The ability to conduct yourself professionally during high pressure situations
A current full Driver's License.

A vehicle and accommodation will be provided for you at either Lake Mavora or Knobbs Flat whilst you are rostered on applicants must be available to complete the full period of employment between the 7th of October 2019 and the 1st of May 2020.

Eligibility to work in New Zealand is mandatory, including a valid work visa covering the whole period of employment if applying internationally.
