The Manawatu team are looking for a hard-working team player to join their Operations team based in Palmerston North. This position is mostly field based, focusing on controlling animal and plant pests to protect our threatened species and restoration works to improve habitats. You will also have opportunity to contribute to Recreation and Historic facility maintenance from time to time, including work in the back country of the Ruahine Forest Park. The position will be working across the Manawatu district. This is a fantastic opportunity to join DOC and build an exciting and meaningful career with us.
Ideally you will have some of the following qualifications or attributes:
Current First Aid Certificate
Full NZ drivers license
Current Growsafe Certificate
Current Controlled Substance License
Restoration planting experience
Off track navigation and GPS skills
A practical approach to problem solving
Basic chainsaw qualifications
Knowledge and/or experience in field delivery work
4x4 and LUV driving experience
A desire to live and work in the Manawatu
