This advert is for 2 temporary positions working 32 hours/4 days per week.

We are recruiting for two hut wardens, to work a four - day working week, to be located at Anchorage and Bark Bay in the Abel Tasman National Park

Their duties will include providing information to visitors, cleaning and maintenance of toilets, huts and campsites, maintenance of tracks and structures, and ensuring fee compliance. The role will involve rostered living and working in the back country 4 days at a time, including weekend and some public holiday work.

They must be service-focused, hold a current first aid certificate and driver's licence, have practical outdoor skills, previous back country experience, and the ability to work unsupervised in isolated field situations in a physically demanding role.

A uniform, relevant personal protective equipment and a field food allowance are provided.

A high level of fitness, backcountry skills and an ability with various tools of the trade will be required. An aptitude to be comfortable working alone at a remote site is key. You will be expected to be able to respond to emergencies such as medical situations.

The season stars on 30 September 2019 and ends on 11 May 2020

Eligibility to work in New Zealand is mandatory, including a valid work visa covering the whole period of employment if applying internationally.
