You have an opportunity to support our highly dedicated team to achieve their ambitious workplan to meet recovery goals for both species.
This is a busy role which requires someone with great logistics skills and who enjoys working with people.
You will be the central point of communication for the teams dispersed across several remote locations.The position will be focused on:assisting in the planning and delivery of island flights and site resupply tripsconducting biosecurity checks of staff, volunteers, and visitors during pre-flight quarantinearranging purchase, collection, and storage of equipment and groceries for the teamproviding logistical support to the team for kakapo & takahe translocationsprocessing invoicessupporting the kakapo adoption schememanaging volunteer enquiries.Nga pukenga me nga wheako | Skills and experienceWith your excellent communication skills, you will have the ability to build relationships with key external stakeholders, volunteers and teams dispersed throughout the islands.
If you have the following attributes, we are keen to hear from you:A current Full Driver's license, and able to drive both manual and automatic vehicles.Excellent communication skills and commitment to achieving team objectives.An ability to demonstrate proactive thinking, planning and organisation.A friendly, approachable attitude.The ability to work independently and as part of a team.IT savvy with knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.The ability to turn your hand to a multitude of tasks.An interest in island biosecurity.A passion for conservation.Mo te tima | About the teamYou will be part of the Regional Operations Team – Kakapo/Takahe and will work with other members of the team based in Invercargill, Te Anau and kakapo sites nationwide.
You will report directly to the kakapo team Supervisor and be based at the Invercargill office.
