Applications are sought from enthusiastic Radiation Therapists who would like to be part of an exciting new future happening here in Palmerston North.
We have positions for either temporary, permanent, fulltime and part time roles and we invite you to come and have a chat about how a new career here might fit with an overall lifestyle change in the central region.
The Regional Cancer Treatment Service (RCTS) is the non-surgical cancer treatment provider for the central North Island, covering a population of 550,000. All radiation treatment is currently located in Palmerston North however there are exciting plans in development to locate new linacs closer to home for our patients in Hastings and New Plymouth.
We have four linacs and equipment from Siemens, Elekta and RaySearch. We are midway through a complete replacement programme with the recent installation of a Siemens Confidence CT, RayStation treatment planning and two new linacs (brand not yet decided) due for installation mid-2019.
We have an established IMRT, IGRT and Stereotactic programs and a strong culture of continuous improvement and development of both staff and technology. We are a social department with great people to work with from all over New Zealand and the world.
The Manawatu is a great place to live, getting to work is easy with no traffic to get in the way and affordable housing. It's the perfect setting to enjoy the outdoors as well as offering a vibrant dining and café culture.
If this sounds like the opportunity for you, we are looking for excellent clinical and technical skills in all areas of CT, Planning and Treatment and we will help you attain these, if needed. We have great internal training and access to an excellent professional development programme. We are also developing a programme to extend the role of Radiation Therapist especially in patient navigation and on treatment review.
Applicants for this role will need to have:
• Registration as a Radiation Therapist with the Medical Radiation Technologist Board (NZ) and hold a current practising certificate
• Enthusiastic individuals with excellent interpersonal and communication skills who are keen to be part of change
• Experience in both the clinical and technical aspects of radiation therapy practice
• Knowledge of current developments and world trends in radiation therapy
