To us, diversity isn't a metric—it's a must!This is a full-time position based in Manizales, Colombia, with a full-time onsite requirement at the studio once established.You have familiarized yourself with the ins and outs of game development through professional and/or independent work and are confident in your understanding of the QA pipeline.
You have a solid QA skillset but are ready to challenge yourself by starting to take on more responsibilities and larger projects within your specialization.
You may have worn a couple of different hats during your early years in the industry, but you've narrowed down your focus and are fixed on harnessing what you've learned and what you will learn to launch your career as a Quality Assurance Tester.You are collaborative, open-minded, and have an overall pleasant disposition.
You can take direction and feedback, are not afraid to ask questions, and understand the value of autonomous work.ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIESSupported by the Senior and Lead QA staff, the Quality Assurance Tester will work alongside other talented developers to research, locate, replicate, and document bugs to ensure an enjoyable experience for the player.RESPONSIBILITIESExecuting test plans on pre-release versions of softwareAssessing product functionality against design documentsResearching and documenting software issuesGenerating software bug reports that detail the issue in a concise and accurate mannerCollaborating with QA team members and other developers to ensure quality and funProvide feedback on features in developmentPerform daily tests and take responsibility for the quality and stability of new game content, new features, and upcoming releasesVerify fixes applied by developers (bug regression)Contribute to and help maintain a project bug databaseOther relevant duties and responsibilities as assigned to help complete company or department objectivesQUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS2+ years' experience as a quality assurance testerPrevious experience in game development or quality assurance roleMust be local to Irvine, CAMust be authorized to work in the USPREFERRED SKILLSExperience with SCRUM and Agile developmentExperience with Atlassian Suite (Jira, Confluence)Strong attention to detail, analytical eye, and problem-solving skillsAble to work effectively in a team environment as well as independentlyPassion for games and delivering quality productsCapacity to multitask and prioritizeFamiliar with contemporary engines, platforms, and devkitsKnowledge of Adobe/Microsoft Office SuiteFamiliarity with the game development cycle and methodologiesPLUSESExperience working on AAA titlesEmbedded development QA experienceExperience working with external teamsExperience in programming or scripting languagesExperience with a Game Development EngineBachelor's DegreeBlind Squirrel Entertainment, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
