About the opportunity
This key leadership role will provide leadership and direction to a team focused on driving and facilitating clinical excellence and improvement activities within the Southern DHB. Supporting our Executive Director Quality and Clinical Governance Solutions you will develop and implement strategy and be accountable for the implementation of performance improvement initiatives that drive and foster improvement and innovation. There's lots to get your teeth into and you'll be given ample scope to truly make the role your own and have real measurable impact.
This role can be based in Dunedin or Invercargill and for the right person, could be based in the Lakes District. Travel will be a requirement for this role however as it is a District-wide role.
Our ideal candidate?
To succeed in this role you will need to bring demonstrated team leadership experience in a dynamic complex organisation. As well as broad and deep knowledge and commitment to quality and performance improvement you will be a credible operator with some scar tissue and experience to share. With a toolkit of quality improvement methodologies at your disposal, you also bring the strategic agility and critical thinking to quickly get to the crux of issues, and you are known for your ability to problem solve and drive for results. Your interpersonal skills are second to none, and you know how to get things done in a complex organization, building excellent professional working relationships with a diverse set of stakeholders quickly along the way.
Some exposure to the health sector might be useful, but won't be essential in this role for a candidate with the right aptitude.
