Scarlatti is looking for a qualitative research associate to join our dynamic and innovative team in Hamilton or Christchurch . In this varied desk-based role you will work on qualitative research and evaluation projects that will utilise your research, problem-solving, communication and analytical skills. This role will suit a recent university graduate, with up to two years of experience , who has an interest in research and enjoys working proactively in a collaborative team environment. About Scarlatti Scarlatti is a research, analytics and evaluation firm serving organisations across a range of sectors, including New Zealand's primary industries, tertiary education and innovation sectors. Our work spans the key areas of monitoring and evaluation, social research, impact modelling, extension programme design, workforce research, wellbeing programme design and operations research. We have offices in Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington and Christchurch. About the role Within this role you will contribute to a range of qualitative research and evaluation projects. Each day will look a little different, you will: Work closely with other members of the Scarlatti team (senior team, research managers, analysts, and other research associates) and clients through online interactions Be involved in qualitative research and evaluation projects, using methodologies such as literature reviews / desk research, interviewing, wananga, logic model development, evaluations, surveys, workshops, etc. Contribute to developing engaging reports (written, dashboards, infographics, presentations, etc.) Support project management activities Contribute to the Scarlatti team and culture. As this is a full-time position, you will be guaranteed 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Requirements You will have: A strong academic record in an appropriate tertiary qualification, post-graduate preferred. This could be in the field of Social Science, Arts, Evaluation, Education, Business, or another area where you have developed effective qualitative research and communication skills Strong analytical skills, including critical thinking and problem solving The ability to respond well to ambiguity, multiple deadlines and changing priorities An appetite to learn, try new things and help other team members. The following attributes may strengthen your application: At least one years' work experience in a relevant field Experience with a range of qualitative research methods (desk research, interviewing, surveys, etc), evaluation or thematic analysis Good organisational and time management skills An understanding of the primary industries in New Zealand.
