Our client is a reputable and well-known fashion/FMCG brand looking for an experienced Purchasing & Production Assistant to join their friendly team in Melbourne's inner suburbs.
Reporting to the Production Manager your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Raising purchase orders
Maintaining inventory accuracy and database integrity
Monitoring end to end process from order placement to pricing, production and delivery
Maintaining and developing relationships with domestic and international suppliers from China by utilising Mandarin speaking skills
Negotiating FOB prices
Liaising with freight forwarders and tracing shipment bookings to ensure that they are DIFOT
Arranging invoices and assisting accounts department
Assisting with import and customs documentation
Sampling and quoting
Liasing with internal departments to streamline processes and ensure business efficacy
Ad hoc administrative duties and assisting Production Manager and team when required
The successful candidate will have the following skills and attributes:
Mandarin speaking skills
At least 3+ years in a similar role with exposure to production & purchasing in afashion/FMCG environment
Previous liaison with forwarders, 3PLs, offshore manufacturers (Chine & SE Asia) and internal logistics/warehouse departments
Sound verbal and written communication skills
Competency with Microsoft Office Suite
