Mount Eden, AucklandContractPsychologist - Intensive Wraparound Service, Te Kahu ToiFixed-term until 28 February 2022Full time role (part time applicants may be considered)Based in Maungawhau office, Mt Eden, AucklandAbout Te Kahu Toi: Intensive Wraparound serviceTe Kahu Toi, The Intensive Wraparound Service supports young people to achieve success at home, school and in their local community.Te Kahu Toi: Intensive Wraparound Service (TKT:IWS) is a family driven service.TKT:IWS provides comprehensive, evidence based interventions to support children/young people with challenging behaviour, socio-emotional difficulties and complex learning needs across a range of contexts. The team works collaboratively with children/young people, parents/caregivers and family/whanau, schools, agencies and local communities to develop and implement comprehensive ecological wraparound plans.For information about the Intensive Wraparound Service please refer to http://www.education.govt.nz/school/student-support/special-education/intensive-wraparound-service-iws/About this roleAs a TKT: IWS Psychologist you will work as part of a team to promote family voice and choice, to promote understanding of the needs of the young person and family, and implement evidence based interventions in your areas of expertise. More specifically, you will work with young people and families to provide a service which:Is designed by a team of people important to the familyIs “owned” by the family and youthFocuses on priority psychological needs as identified with the family and teamProvides evidence informed interventionsIncludes supports and interventions across multiple life domains and settings (home, school, community)Includes supports for adults, siblings, and family members as well as the “identified youth”Is actively reviewed and evaluated so that progress can be measured and support revised and modified a neededAbout youTo be successful you will need;To be a New Zealand Registered Psychologist under the Health Practitioners Competency Assurance Act and hold a current practicing certificate;OR, be registered as an Intern Psychologist having gained entry to a Post Graduate Diploma in Psychology that will enable you to gain full registration as a psychologist under the HPCAA;Ability to contribute your specialist skills within multi-agency, trans-disciplinary settings where the child/youth are at the centre of everything you doExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAn ability to work effectively with children, young people and their families, teachers and other professionals across a diverse range of settingsThe ability to understand and apply the principles of Te Tirirti o Waitangi and tangatawhenuatangaWhat can we offer you?We offer a competitive salary and terms and conditions.
