About the team
The Early Intervention in Psychosis Service works with people from the ages of 16 to 30 years and their families, providing services for young people with an emerging psychosis. This specialist service offers support and appropriate interventions to avoid hospitalisation and to promote engagement, working towards recovery and wellbeing. The service recognises that young people who present with emerging psychotic disorders are at significant risk of becoming high users of health services in their lives and with appropriate early intervention, the risk of relapse and secondary disability can be prevented.
About the role/about you
Due to internal movement we have an exciting opportunity for a suitably experienced and skilled Registered Comprehensive or Psychiatric Nurse in the above team based in Dunedin. The position is for a 0.7 FTE clinical community nurse position within the team.
The Early Intervention in First Psychosis Service is a small, specialised multidisciplinary team of mental health professionals who are committed to this model of service delivery. The successful applicant will demonstrate high levels of clinical skill and preferably have experience working in community mental health settings. They will
show a clear understanding of the principles underpinning early intervention in first psychosis assessment.

You must be aRegistered Nurse, with a current APC- and have recent experience in working within a mental health sector.
