Steadfast Underwriting Agencies - Miramar, a market leading underwriting agency focus on a progressive approach to underwriting. We source authorised local and overseas Insurers who assist us in providing the market with new ways to write risk. We seek a Property/Package Underwriter to provide underwriting services to the broker market. To liaise with brokers and internal staff on policy terms and conditions and assist the company in marketing its brand to the broker network.

About the role
The major responsibilities of the role are as follows:

Client Relationship Management
Identifying potential for and developing new client relationships; proactively identifying client requirements;
undertaking actions which meet and/or exceed client expectations; using communication styles and methods to ensure understanding and enduring client satisfaction.
Influences outcomes that maximise potential for long term relationships
Develops ideas and solutions with the client
Maintains and demonstrates sound knowledge of clients. business and industries
Clarifies short and long term expectations in the relationship
Facilitates open communication
Develops approaches to client opportunities
Identifies current and potentially important clients
Acknowledges and recognises others who take action to meet client's needs

Customer Service Orientation
Developing customer relationships by listening to and making efforts to understand the customer (both internal and external, e.g. clients, suppliers, agents as well as other team members); anticipating and providing solutions to customer needs; prioritising customer satisfaction.
Assist with training staff in application of agreed systems and processes to daily work flow
Recognises and acknowledges the customer and clarifies customer's needs until fully understood
Undertakes actions that meet or exceed the need
Confirms customers. satisfaction with solution
Actively listens and empathises with customers
Takes responsibility for response and outcomes

Skills and experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and exceptional attention to detail
Influencing events actively and proactively to achieve goals; working effectively without supervision or close instruction; acting to achieve goals beyond minimum requirements; thinking constructively and presenting suggestions about improvements to the job and the workplace.
Demonstrating the ability to work effectively in a team/work group or those outside the formal line of authority (e.g. peers, senior managers) as a valued member who assists in building morale and makes extra effort to help the team reach organisational goals; taking actions that respect the needs and contributions of others
A high degree of organisational skills and the ability to adapt quickly to change
Ability to deal with multiple tasks whilst meeting reporting deadlines
Ability to communicate at all levels in a multiple stakeholder environment- liaison with clients, external service providers and other departments

Qualifications and Experience
Minimum 5 years' experience in Insurance/Underwriting required
Qualifications as determined by PS146 requirements from time to time in order to provide advice to the public and comply with any financial services legislation and regulation enacted by the Commonwealth of Australia or the States.
