Education Infrastructure Service (EIS), a part of the Ministry of Education, manages the Crown's second largest property portfolio of around 2,100 schools with a book value of $18.3 billion, the largest payroll in the country, and transportation of over 100,000 students to and from school each day.
Our vision for school property is that all schools have quality learning environments as part of a well-managed and sustainable portfolio that helps deliver equitable and excellent outcomes for every child.
About the role
You will be providing advice and support for the management of a portfolio of schools over the short, medium and long term to meet ongoing and future educational requirements.
Your Key Priorities will include:
Developing effective relationships and trust with schools
Working with individual Schools to develop an asset management plan so they are effectively managing and maintaining their school property and infrastructure.
Ensuring schools implement projects and spending supports the school's pedagogy and/or Ministry Asset Strategy.
Following and working within Ministry and EIS policy, procedures and guidelines and providing the right advice to schools.
Ensuring Ministry information and data is kept up to date and accurate
Working collaboratively across the team to share technical knowledge and experience with others so all portfolios are well supported and there is consistent delivery of service.
Working collaboratively with other teams within the Ministry and EIS to provide effective property and infrastructure solutions that support teaching and learning.

About you
To be successful in this role you will need to be an amazing people person and be an excellent communicator with proven skills in building and managing strong, effective relationships. Your ability to understand your audience, their vision and motivations is critical. You will be able to adapt your communication style to be able to effectively deliver a range of messages to a variety of people.
You will also offer:
Demonstrated ability to plan and implement initiatives and achieve positive results
Ability to interpret, plainly articulate the intent, and apply policy appropriately
Ability to manage and prioritise competing demands
Problem solving, have the ability to apply a variety of approaches to solve problems or identify options to achieve great outcomes
Relevant professional qualification or experience such as asset management, project management, property management or construction.
A full, current and clean Drivers Licence.
