About the role

The Project Planning Analyst is part of the Integrated Planning Team within the ICT Business Enablement Group. The Business Enablement Group is responsible for delivering technology based innovation aligned to Police strategy.
Our team are: developing a portfolio of initiatives that meet business needs, identifying opportunities from partners and other agencies that can be applied to Police, designing user-centric services that meet Police needs and aligning operational priorities, financial and human resources, and management of key Police ICT Programmes.
As a Project Planning Analyst you will lead ICT's centralized project reporting facility, providing timely and accurate programme and project reporting.
Key Accountabilities:
Provide ICT programme and project central reporting, including: programme dashboard, programme/project spend, milestones, slippage etc
Consolidate and complete ICT capital and operating project budget and liaises with ffice
Monitor and report on the realisation of ICT related project/initiative benefits
Monitor, report, review and challenge project documents to enable them to be provided for approval on time
Identify and promote opportunities for process improvement
Provide expertise on large projects to ensure the finances are planned and reported clearly

We're looking for someone who can demonstrate the following:
Advanced excel skills (Charts, vlookups, pivot tables)
Consistent attention to detail and the ability to question
Ability to identify core reasons behind variances and to provide accurate insights into monthly reports
Ability to identify and lead ongoing improvement opportunities in reporting and process
A sound knowledge of planning, budgeting and forecasting processes and the successful application of these in a large organisation
Knowledge of SAP and Sentient would be of value
