Project Manager (Education)

As a nation we all value the work of our schools and the role they play in shaping the future generations of New Zealand. Most of us have some connection to a school whether that be from when you attended school yourself, have children currently attending a school, or perhaps you know someone who is a teacher. At the very least, you will have noticed a local school in the community where you live.

The Opportunity
Based in our Project Management (Education) team, this is an opportunity for a special individual to work alongside our schools and the Ministry of Education as a Project Manager. This is a junior role and will mainly involve the preparation of 10-year property plans and supporting the management of construction projects from initial planning stages to completion. There will be numerous projects requiring your involvement, over a number of different school sites, so you will need to hold a full and valid New Zealand Drivers Licence and also be willing to undertake a Police Vetting process in order to access client sites.
About You
To be successful in this role you will have excellent communication and customer service skills including a strong command of the English language, be capable of managing your workload in a fast paced environment, be highly organised, resilient, computer savvy, a great problem solver and hold a high level of community spirit.
You will ideally hold a construction management certificate or related construction/building qualification with a minimum of 1 years post graduate practical experience in the construction industry or extensive on the job experience working in or around school buildings in a similar or related role. You will also ideally have a sound technical understanding of New Zealand construction practices and relevant legislation.
