Reporting to the Project Delivery Manager, the purpose of the Project Manager is to manage the process and project-oriented duties, in Cigna’s Agile environment, related to key projects associated with Cigna’s current programme of work.
This role requires strong expertise in project management, in an Agile oriented environment, and a thorough understanding of business processes.
Critical Tasks and Expected Results:
Work with Cigna NZ and subject matter experts to achieve key milestones and deliver projects on schedule and to requirements
Proactively identify, manage and resolve any issues and risks that may impact the successful completion of projects
Manage projects using both Agile and Waterfall methodologies as agreed with the business
Provide weekly project reporting, and SteerCo reports, across the organization as agreed with key stakeholders
Strong collaboration with the business and influencing stakeholders as required
Prepare for and present at regular update meetings
Experience/ Education /Knowledge/Skills Requirements:
8+ years of proven successful Project Management skills
A proven track record in delivering projects on time and within budget
In-depth experience/knowledge of the Insurance and/or Banking Industry
Experience in managing both Agile and Waterfall projects simultaneously
Experience in Agile driven organisations and understands the mechanics of this methodology
Experience with software development and technical IT related projects
Must be a self-starter that can initiate and drive projects with little supervision
Demonstrated track record of success in multiple complex projects and/or programs
Ability to manage ambiguity and re-prioritise quickly and effectively to ensure delivery
Ability to work effectively and collaboratively across functional groups and with senior leadership, to manage conflict, resolve problems, and facilitate a consensus amongst diverse personalities and styles, in order to move forward and drive results
Excellent communicator with proven ability to enlist support of the most senior level of management
Ability to define, shape and deliver strategies and to breakdown complex topics issues and into actionable plans for team execution
Hands-on and proactive problem-solver with the ability to hammer out tough agreements and solutions to drive results
Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment with quick turnaround requirements
Strong business acumen and attention to bottom-line
Strong people leadership and influencing skills
