The Commission is looking for an experienced project manager who can effectively support the Mental Health and Addiction (MHA) Quality Improvement Programme team to plan, develop, document and deliver their five-year work programme (2017-2022). The role will ensure that the MHA quality improvement work programme is managed in accordance with best practice project management, co-design and quality improvement methodologies as well as being delivered on time, within budget and with attention to equity.
The Commission has a strong focus on Maori health advancement and reducing inequity, and the successful candidate will contribute to these goals.

To be successful in this key role, you will need to have excellent communication and writing skills and be able to:
lead and manage quality improvement projects at a competent level, including managing multiple tasks and priorities
proactively plan, coordinate and monitor programme and project activity
effectively develop and manage diverse stakeholder relationships in the mental health and addiction sector
motivated to drive and deliver results
maintain records for monitoring, audit and tracking purposes, and meeting decisions and actions
write papers relating to projects being managed.
You are likely to have a relevant tertiary/management or health qualification or equivalent experience.
The Commission is a stand-alone Crown entity with a Board responsible to the Minister of Health. The Commission is responsible for assisting providers across the whole health and disability sector, both private and public, to improve service safety and quality and therefore outcomes for all those who use these services in New Zealand.
