The Team:What we do
The Site Redevelopment Unit is responsible for major building construction and building redevelopment work across the Canterbury DHB. We also manage a large programme of Earthquake Repairs, and are responsible for the disposal of CDHB property along with the negotiation of leases for facilities.
Our team consists of multidisciplinary construction related professionals with varied industry experience. The core team provides project management services for the above activities and acts as the client's representatives on all the building projects that we are involved with.
In addition to the above, we are responsible for the administration of the Arts for Health Art Collection and provide interior design services where appropriate to all parts of the organisation.
The Role:Where you fit in
In this role, you will be responsible for:
Act as client representative on building & development projects
Lead & manage internal and external Project Managers & Design Consultants
Manage project forecasting, budgets and reporting
Liaise with users & gain an in-depth understanding of operational requirements
Engage appropriate building contractors & FF&E suppliers.
Your skills will include:
Project Management experience within the construction industry
The ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of people from End user Clinicians, Consultants, Contractors, Council staff and build relationships
Outstanding listening skills
A range of existing relationships across all areas of the construction business
A familiarity with health care design, function & technology. (Desirable but not a prerequisite)
Computer skills, including construction programming using Microsoft Project
You will need to be willing to work collaboratively, and have 'a whatever It takes attitude'
You need to be willing to think creatively and use initiative to solve challenges whilst also recognising the CDHB has a wide range of set functional requirements to be met
A relevant tertiary or professional qualification would be an advantage.
