By consistently getting this right, we give our customers confidence and peace of mind during the process of planning, pricing, and construction.To support a sustained workload and with a number of exciting projects on the horizon, we are seeking an experienced construction professional to join our team.The RoleThis Project Director role is a permanent, full-time position. You will be joining an established team of experienced construction professionals. Your previous experience in the end-to-end delivery of commercial construction projects in Aotearoa New Zealand will ensure a solid foundation of knowledge for this role.At the heart of both Clelands Construction as a company, and with this role in particular, is the importance of building and maintaining client and stakeholder relationships. Given this, you will be well-versed in establishing and maintaining positive working relationships at all levels.Clelands Construction operates with a strong values structure. The ideal candidate will contribute to a culture where these values are integral to the way we think and act.In addition to the above, the ideal candidate will have:10+ years' experience in management roles within the NZ commercial construction environment.Cultural competency and respect for tikanga, or a genuine willingness to grow your cultural appreciation and ability alongside our valued iwi partners.Project management skills and the ability to guide and support project managers and estimators.Commercial skills and the ability to lead project feasibility and value engineering exercises.Contractual competency and a desire to minimize risk for all parties and find win-win solutions.Developed communication skills with the ability to achieve mutual respect and success in a team environment.Experience and ability in drafting construction programmes and methodologies as well as an ability to confidently use construction management software.Relevant tertiary and/or trade qualifications.Although this role will be at a senior level in the company, all management staff at Clelands are expected to muck in wherever they may be required.
