Deliver a New EntertainmentVenue for Christchurch & New Zealand
Christchurch Based Role
Few roles everoffer the unique challenge and opportunity that is presented with this iconicand significant infrastructure build. Reportingto the Canterbury Multi-Use Arena (CMUA) Governance Board and leading a team ofCouncil and external experts, the Project Director will have accountability forthe delivery of the CMUA project.
The ProjectDirector will lead all phases of the project including benefits management,stakeholder management and reporting, as well as the effective management ofscope, time, cost, quality issues and risks, human resources, communicationsand procurement functions. This project willinvolve diverse stakeholder groups, including Council, Crown agencies,neighbours and the wider public, and multiple professional disciplines andconsultants both internal to Council and external to the CMUA wider organisation. Leading stakeholder management will be anintegral component of this position.
The role requires a proactive approach and an agileand enquiring mind with the ability to continually analyse the longer-term implicationsof any issues that may arise during the course of the project.
Applicants will possess prior experience managing significant andcomplex public-sector projects of scale, along with strong negotiating skills, a pragmatic outlook, aclient centric approach and a solid appreciation of project managementpractices. Exceptional relationshipmanagement and communication skills are essential with experience managingmulti-faceted stakeholder relationships. A high degree of financial and ITliteracy along with the ability to think laterally with strong attention todetail are also key for your success.
