About the opportunity
The diversity within our New Zealand Project Management Office unit gives us the flexibility to provide our clients with in-house project teams tailor-made to meet their varying project requirements. We currently have a Christchurch-based opportunity for a Project Controls Specialist (PCS). This role consists of elements of project management, project controls, pricing, finance, procurement and risk management. Working on a diverse range of national projects, the PCS will be a member of a team of around 20 project management specialists working across our offices in Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington and Christchurch.
About you
Ideally you would be degree qualified and preferably be from a construction, contract administration or consulting background with good all-round skills in project controls, procurement and financials. You would need to be extremely well-organised, detail focused, and flexible with a can-do attitude. Further skills and experience that would be required are:Entry to intermediate level candidates required with some relevant experience
Familiarity with a consulting/design project delivery environment and the application of principles of project controls.
Understand the principles of project controls and understand the relationships between the project controls functions—pricing, cost control, risk management and ideally scheduling/programming.
Experienced working with multiple cross-discipline project teams to provide effective execution of projects.
Strong communicator ensuring that project controls metrics and understood and acted upon.
Deploy and implement standard control procedures following Jacobs procedures.
Promote a positive working atmosphere.
Possess good verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to communicate complex project controls information to team members.
Must be able to write accurate and meaningful project status updates.
Highly skilled in Excel and data handling / manipulation.
Familiarity with Ecosys Projects would be advantageous.
