We have an ambitious transformation programme to deliver on the Council's vision for the Far North to be a district of sustainable prosperity and welling - He Whenua Rangatira. We are looking for an adept project and change management specialist to contribute to the design and delivery of this transformation programme.This role is responsible for building and supporting Project and Change Management capability and knowledge across the Council. Working within the Project Management Office, you will focus on designing and embedding the project management and change management frameworks, methodologies, templates, systems and processes and in collaboration with business units, ensure all projects being planned and delivered are in accordance with the agreed frameworks. You will also contribute to the collation of data on project activities for executive reporting.Excellent interpersonal skills and the skills to build strong relationships internally and externally are key to this role. This role is unique in that it has incredible reach across the organisation. You will be working closely with Sponsors, project managers and business teams to provide advice, and guidance, in relation to project management, change management and benefits realisation.You will have experience in implementing complex change initiatives, ensuring projects are initiated, planned, and implemented using a holistic approach. Strong stakeholder engagement is key to improving collaboration around change initiatives and integration across the entire organisation.This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Project professional to contribute to the automation of the framework through a PPM tool to support better project delivery.You will also need:Bachelor's degree in a relevant disciplineProfessional qualification in project or change managementSignificant experience in implementing projects or programmes, applying recognised Project Management disciplines.Familiarity with risk management and quality assurancePractical knowledge of P3O Structures and implementation would be advantageous.Highly developed data gathering, documentation, report, and process mapping skills.Ability to lead changeExcellent organisational and planning skillsAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Office ApplicationsFar North District Council is a progressive and growing Council filled with like-minded people who love what they do and are committed to providing superior services to residents in their community.The salary for this position is Grade 18 within Council's salary structure ($96,643 - $113,697 per annum) dependent on qualifications and experience, plus Kiwi Saver.
