Lead the programme activity for the Maternity Action Plan 2019-2023 working closely with the Ministry Maternity Team and the wider Maternity Sector.
The role of Programme Manager in the Maternity team sits within our Health System Improvement and Innovation directorate which supports and promotes innovation and continuous system improvement through quality commissioning and policy, effective regulation and evidence-based decision making. This is a 0.6 FTE, 2-year fixed term role based in Wellington.
Programme Manager, Maternity is an exciting new role that is responsible for providing high quality programme management ensuring that the Maternity Action Plan is implemented in a cohesive and inclusive manner with a kaupapa Maori framework.
In this position you will
Work in collaboration across the whole maternity and health system in leading the implementation of the programme, and ensure effective quality assurance and while developing and maintain effective working relationships with key external stakeholders
Manage dependences and risks between programmes, resolve issues and initiate appropriate corrective actions to ensure successful outcomes. Oversee change control processes and approvals
Work with the rest of the Health System Improvement and Innovation directorate to implement and deliver the strategy and corresponding strategic priorities
Lead and support Ministry-wide, sector and government-wide approaches and ensure delivery and alignment of key work programmes
To be successful, you will possess the ability to work in complex environments and with a wide range of diverse stakeholders to persuade through applying expert knowledge and rational options, recommendations and solutions. You will show skills and ability to take complex information and synthesise it into key messages for relevant audiences with strong proven experience in work programme design and project planning that demonstrates delivery and cost effectiveness.
