Programme Facilitator

We require a programme facilitator, starting as soon as possible to join the team.Hours are 9am to 4pm, Monday to Friday.  We are either after someone full time or different people doing different days. Hours are flexible and negotiable. We are a day service for disabled adults with very high support needs.  Some caregiving is required but previous experience in caregiving is not required as full training will be given.  Please note that the majority of the toileting support will be with our female clients and so familiarity with this will be an advantage.  All of our service users require help with primary care and this is shared between all staff however it is not the main purpose of our centre. Our purpose is to provide meaningful programmes  for our service users. It is very important that our staff have the ability to support both our service users and other staff and volunteers with activities and programmes we run every day. These are dictated by services users wishes and interests and range from music sessions to managing a community based recycle/ freecycle clothes shop in the Middleton Road shopping complex.Some specific tasks and duties will include assisting with toileting and eating when required.A very positive attitude to people with disabilities is an absolute must. Also necessary is patience, flexibility and a commitment to positive behaviour management techniques.We are not looking for a specific skill set. We prefer staff to have a willingness to learn and a wide range of interests so that they bring diversity to our programmes.A reasonable level of physical fitness is required as most of our service users are wheelchair users. Staff need to be able to push wheelchairs in the centre and in the community.Apply now!
