This is a senior leadership position requiring someone with a deep understanding of the New Zealand health sector, proven expertise in large-scale educational programme delivery, and the capability to manage complex stakeholder relationships while ensuring the highest standards of quality and compliance.The successful candidate will join our Executive Leadership Team and be responsible for overseeing a dynamic programme serving up to 800-1,000 participants at any given time, with weekly intakes of approximately 100 participants, delivered entirely through online platforms.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership & Programme OversightProvide strategic direction and leadership for the Health Leadership Micro-credential programme.Ensure programme alignment with Health NZ strategic priorities and sector needs.Participate as a member of the academyEX Executive Leadership TeamMonitor programme performance against key metrics and outcomesLead continuous improvement initiatives based on participant feedback and sector developmentsOperational Excellence & Quality AssuranceOversee all aspects of programme delivery, ensuring consistent quality and complianceMaintain rigorous quality assurance processes and standardsEnsure compliance with NZQA requirements and achieve learner outcomesManage programme accreditation and reaccreditation processesImplement and maintain robust reporting systems for internal and external stakeholdersOversee weekly intake processes and participant journey managementTeam Leadership & ManagementLead and manage a diverse team of 7-10 professionals including:Operations staffOnboarding and enrolment coordinatorsFacilitation and subject matter expertsMaori and Pacific support specialistsFoster a high-performance, collaborative team cultureConduct performance management, professional development, and succession planningRecruit, onboard, and retain high-quality team membersEnsure team capability development aligns with programme needsStakeholder Relationship ManagementBuild and maintain strategic relationships with key stakeholders including:Health NZ leadership and regional representativesHealth sector unions and professional bodiesProgramme governance board membersManage stakeholder expectations and communicationsFacilitate stakeholder feedback integration into programme developmentFinancial & Resource ManagementManage programme budget and financial performanceEnsure efficient resource allocation and utilisationOversee procurement and vendor management for programme deliveryMonitor and report on programme financial sustainabilityIdentify opportunities for revenue growth and cost optimisationInnovation & DevelopmentStay current with health sector trends, challenges, and opportunitiesLead institutions and thought leadersEssential RequirementsEducation & QualificationsMaster's degree in a relevant field (Health Administration, Education, Public Health, Management, or related discipline)Current understanding of New Zealand health sector structure, challenges, and prioritiesExperienceMinimum 8 years of experience in programme management and people leadershipMinimum 5 years of experience working within the New Zealand health sectorProven track record of managing large-scale educational or training programmesDemonstrated experience with compliance, quality assurance, and regulatory requirementsExperience managing diverse, multidisciplinary teamsTrack record of successful stakeholder relationship managementSkills & CompetenciesExceptional leadership and people management capabilitiesStrong strategic thinking and planning abilitiesExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsHigh level of cultural competency, particularly regarding Te Ao Maori and Pacific
