There Hawick factory, located in the Scottish Borders, are centres of expertise for duct and sub duct, optical cable, air-blown fibre and other extruded polymer products and they now seek a Production Supervisor who is good at organising and planning and who also has experience in extrusion where optimising machine performance and minimising downtime. This is a monthly paid salaried position which will bring good career prospects for the successful applicant.As a Production Supervisor, you will report to the Production Manager and will work on 12-hour shifts on 3 on/3 off rotating continental shift pattern. Your main duties will require you to satisfy the production objectives of our Main Production Department. The Department is tasked with the volume preparation and production of Duct products to service customer orders and you will ensure the smooth day to day running of the production teams.Key Responsibilities for the Production Supervisor role include:-• Applicants should have experience in extrusion where optimising machine performance and minimising downtime are key performance measurements.• The successful candidate will report to the Production Manager and will work on 12-hour shifts on rotating continental shift pattern• Ensuring safe packaging of all customer products.• Pro-actively helping with solutions to improve production.• Liaising with the Production Manager and other Supervisors regarding any outstanding tasking within production and actively participate in their resolution.• Shift Supervisors and their teams, are required to ensure that the production area and all pertaining to it is kept clean and hazard free**Please note a full Job Description will be sent to candidates of interest with a company application form to complete and return.THE CANDIDATE: The successful candidate for the Production Supervisor position must be able to demonstrate excellent people management and leadership skills together with the ability to plan and prioritise their own work as well as that of other people, and will have proven experience in managing shifts as well as being able to demonstrate excellent communication skills in order to direct their team in the smooth running of the production process.
